For parents
There are four things that I would like to ask of the parents of my students:
1. If you feel there is a problem with me or my teaching, do not call the principal. Call me first and give me the chance to discuss the concerns with you.
2. If you need to talk to me, send a note with your child or send me an email. I'll write back and we can arrange a meeting. You may show up at my classroom door unannounced, but I will be much more prepared to talk if we arrange a time to meet first.
3. Realize that your child is one of many I teach each day, and that it is not always possible to address each and every need he or she may have. The sole responsibility of educating children is not the teacher's alone; it is the parents' as well.
4. Trust me that I know what I am doing.
Thank you for your patience and trust this year as your child enters the 8th grade!
